Travel Update May 22nd

Sorry we haven't been keeping you updated on our travels. Yes, the big red truck is back on the road but we have a new "regular "route. For the last five weeks Kurt has been picking up a load of windows in Tacoma on Fridays and delivering them in Denver on Mondays. He reloads with some kind of freight in Denver on Tuesday and is back in Tacoma by Thursday. Of course this gives us a way to visit our kids and grandson in Denver every weekend so we think we will stay with this route through the summer.
We have found at least three ways to travel from Tacoma to Denver so we can see some different scenery. One of the ways is to take a short cut from the corner of Wyoming up to Idaho- which takes you right by Kemmerer WY- The home of the orignal JC Penney store. A picture of the town sign is below. As you can see by the picture, Kemmerer is literally in the middle of nowhere. What would Mr. Penney think of his business if he were alive today?

Kurt is making one more run from Tacoma this week and then we will take a week off in Kettle Falls. Hope that catches you up on our comings and goings, Joanie and Kurt

What time is it anyway??

Here's another picture of the Alaskan state mascot. This one was munching on the tree right outside the office building where I had been working all week.

Look at this pretty picture of the sun shining on the snow capped mountains outside of Anchorage. What time do you think this picture was taken???

Mid day? Mid afternoon? Early evening?

You'd be wrong! It was none of the above

..... It was actually taken at 10:05 pm!
Pretty cool, huh?

Alaska AGAIN

Well, it has been nearly a month since the last entry. In that time we have been back to Kettle Falls and Kurt has made three trips to Denver to see the cutest grandbaby in the world. Here he is- stripped down so he can eat and be messy.

Joanie has been home and in Idaho to do a review.
But today Joanie is back in Alaska- Anchorage this time- an within an hour of arriving there was a MOOSE in the back lot of the hotel. Is Alaska a great place, or what??!!!
